Art

My role as an art educator is to promote a positive and creative environment where students can develop both their intellectual abilities and their capacity to express their ideas, imaginations and feelings visually. My mission is to ground my students with a strong visual arts foundation which includes knowledge and understanding of the elements of art, the principles of design, art appreciation, visual awareness, self-expression and reflective criticism. To this end, I encourage students to become actively involved in the artistic process, and thru studying art, they can come to a greater understanding and appreciation of the diverse histories, cultures, ideals, and viewpoints of the people who make art. My goal for each art project that I teach is to show my students that, with some hard work and dedication, they can create and do amazing things!
