How do I get a Chromebook?
Pick up a student Chromebook agreement form from the Media Center (or download one in English or Spanish). Fill it out, have your parent/guardian sign it, and bring it to the Media Center. You will be given a Chromebook, a charger, and a protective case. These are yours to use until you graduate or leave the WSFCS district.
-
If my Chromebook is lost or stolen, what do I do?
Go to the Media Center ASAP to report it. If it's lost, we may be able to locate it, but time is of the essence, so the sooner you let us know, the better.
-
What do I do if my Chromebook breaks (screen cracks, keys break, etc.) or it just isn't working right?
Bring your Chromebook to the Media Center. If the damage was accidental, we will exchange it for you, free of charge! If it was damaged on purpose or due to user neglect, it will be assessed to determine if there will be a charge.
-
I lost my charger, what do I do?
We do not have enough chargers to give out replacements. You will need to bring $30 for the charger to the Media Center, and we will give you a replacement.
-
If I lose or destroy my Chromebook, how much do I have to pay in order to get a new one?
The charges for Chromebooks are:
- Chromebook (including charger) - $265
- Charger (only) - $30
- Case - $20
So, if you lose the whole package, it will cost $285 total to replace it.

I am transferring to another school. What do I do?
If you are transferring to another school within the WSFCS district, you take your Chromebook with you. Your records will automatically be transferred to your new school.
If you are moving out of district or state, you need to turn in your Chromebook, charger, and case to the Media Center before you leave. NOTE: If you turn it in to the office or somewhere else, it might get lost. The safest option is to bring it directly to the Media Center.
-
I can't login to my Chromebook.
Go to the Media Center for a password reset or have your teacher contact the Media Center and request a reset for you.
-
I can't login to Canvas.
All of your teachers have the ability to reset your NC EdCloud (Canvas, Powerschool, Schoolnet, etc.) password. Contact one of them to do so. If you still can't get in, go to the Media Center for assistance.

I don't have Internet at home. Can you help me with this?
If you don't have Internet access at home, we can check out a hotspot to you. Go to the Media Center to request one.
