What is PAWS?

  • PAWS stands for:  Positive Adventurous World-Changing Students

PAWS is taught by Mrs. Peimann and Mrs. Gerhardt. In our PAWS special students can check out library books as well as work on technology skills using Chromebooks.  Students have the opportunity to practice digital citizenship skills including taking care of devices, making smart and appropriate choices online, and avoiding plagiarism by giving credit to sources used.  Kindergarten and first grade have a special focus on instruction about books and reading.  A large part of PAWS involves hands-on learning with Lego and Makerspace activities.  PAWS is all about creativity, problem-solving, and utilizing Engineering Design thinking.
