Tiffani Cash, Diggs-Latham Elementary

Tiffani Cash is a reach associate with experience as a receptionist, teacher assistant, and long-term substitute. Her responsibilities have included organizing NC Core standards education, managing student data, and creating methods for teaching both sign language and Spanish in weekly lesson planning. She often goes beyond the scope of her job duties to make sure students are getting everything that they need.

“I especially appreciate her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone at any time,” said Diggs-Latham ELL Lead Paula McCabe. “This shows her true character of being a thoughtful and pleasant individual.”

Mary Beth Flynn, Piney Grove Elementary

Mary Beth Flynn is a former lead teacher and kindergarten teacher who currently serves as an instructional assistant at Piney Grove Elementary. She has held leadership roles on multiple PTA and PTSA boards and received the Greensboro College Alumni Excellence Award in 2019. She’s also a positive influence on her school’s atmosphere and has a talent for putting smiles on people’s faces.

“Mrs. Flynn’s can-do and caring attitude has such a huge impact on our school,” said Instructional Assistant Nicole Seely. “She is a cheerleader for our students in every elementary grade, teachers, coworkers, parents, and caregivers.”

Michelle Jenkins, Career Center

Michelle Jenkins is the WS/FCS lead financial secretary and is responsible for numerous financial record of payroll and school activities. Her job requires a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a high level of integrity. Her supervisors say she has a surplus of all these traits and sets a great example as a bookkeeper, a professional, and a member of the team.

“I believe that Ms. Jenkins has the vision, experience, support, stamina, enthusiasm, and drive to represent the ideal of excellence the district would like to uphold in its employees,” Career Center Principal Nancy Martinez said. “It is well-known by students, staff, and administration that Ms. Jenkins is passionate about supporting our school’s vision and mission.”

Kimberly Jones, Reagan High

Kimberly Jones has served WS/FCS as a teacher assistant, second secretary, and long-term substitute since 2007. She previously spent a decade teaching music at the preschool and kindergarten levels. As a long-time fixture in the Pfafftown community, she’s uniquely qualified to be the first person people see when they walk in the door at Reagan High School.

“Reagan High School could not ask for a better ambassador for its school and

Community,” said Reagan Social Studies Teacher Chris Pinnix. “Kim takes immense pride in the school and community. Both of her children came through Reagan High School, and her family has lived in this community for over 30 years.”

Gloria Lewis, Human Resources

Gloria Lewis serves the WS/FCS Human Resources department as an administrative assistant. In her position, she’s one of the people who district employees and community stakeholders seek help from the most. Despite a heavy workload, her supervisors say she displays an admirable commitment to getting every task done correctly and in a timely manner.

“Gloria’s work ethic is unmatched,” said Director of Recruitment and Retention Bree Christensen. “When Gloria assists employees in human resources, she always does so with a positive attitude and a friendly smile, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she seeks out information to learn more so she can truly help our employees.”
