Eurikca Felipe, Paisley IB Magnet

Eurikca Felipe has served as a PTA president, vice president, and advocacy chairperson between Whitaker Elementary School and Paisley IB Magnet School. She works in marketing and has been the Client Development Manager of Digital Promotions for Inmar Inc. since 2018. She emphasizes helping students make connections with local leaders and community groups to inspire them to be the best that they can be.

“Eurikca Felipe understands the need for setting high expectations for all students,” said Judge Denise Hartsfield. “As a volunteer, she inspires students to be great and to reach for the stars.”

Mitzi Flores-Hahn, Union Cross Elementary

Mitzi Flores-Hahn has worked with WS/FCS since 2007 as a volunteer, tutor, and substitute teacher. She’s also the owner of Shey28 Treasures in Kernersville and holds what she calls the “best unpaid job ever” as a mother of four. This year’s PTA president, she’s tireless in making sure things get done at Union Cross.

“Mitzi is one of the most hardworking and dedicated people I know,” said Union Cross Principal Javita Noel-Stockton. “She attends every event, and not just as a spectator, but as the one who is setting up tables and chairs, sweeping the floor, picking up food/snacks, or prepping for PTA to be in place.”

Camille Harvey, Brunson Elementary

Camille Harvey spent a decade working as a lead preschool teacher, a first grade teacher assistant, and an early childhood resiliency coach. Today, she’s a reliable volunteer, PTA president, tutor, and teacher assistant at Brunson Elementary. She’s full of clever ideas and has taken plenty of initiative to reinvigorate Brunson’s culture since students have returned to in-person classes.

“Camille has done a phenomenal job rebuilding our PTA from the ground up after we returned to school from Covid,” said Kindergarten Teacher Kelly Averett Gutierrez. “We appreciate everything she does – she wears many hats and gives 100% to each and every task she undertakes.”

Jason Rubley, Piney Grove

Jason Rubley is a Kernersville realtor with a background as a school finance manager and treasurer. His volunteer activities cover everything from coaching athletics to assisting food pantries to working with students with developmental disabilities through ARC of Forsyth County. He takes great pride in making Piney Grove a better place for his daughters, and he’s set a strong example for other volunteers in the community.

“I have never worked with another volunteer with as much passion and concern for the students and our community as Mr. Rubley,” said PTA President Jill Eversole. “His whole attitude is contagious around the school and has a way of spreading to anyone he encounters.”

Lori Starling, Reagan High

Lori Starling currently serves as the Reagan High School PTSA secretary and social media manager. Since 2013, she has volunteered with Reagan, Meadowlark Middle, Meadowlark Elementary, and Southwest Elementary as a class mom, a reading buddy, a project organizer, and much more. She’s always on the lookout for an opportunity to make improvements, and she’s credited with revitalizing Reagan’s social media presence with the PTSA.

“What makes Lori stand out from the crowd is that she took initiative to create a new position on the PTSA in order to better serve our community and students,” said Assistant Principal Suzanne Hannah. “Her student-centered approach was the driving force behind the creation of the Social Media Manager position.”
