• History and Background:

I was born and raised in a small northern Minnesota town and spent most of my free time in the outdoors. I have been living in the Winston Salem area for the past 10 years. I come from a relatively large family and am the youngest of seven children. I am married and have two boys. I graduated from UNC Greensboro with a bachelor of science in middle grades education with concentrations in science and social studies, received my gifted licensure certification from High Point University, and earned a masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in science education from The American College of Education.

    What I believe:

I believe that every one learns in their own unique way. My class will offer students the opportunity to learn the curriculum through a number of different avenues. Students will have the opportunity to learn through methods such as lecture, individual projects, group projects, laboratory exercises, technology integration, and hands on demonstrations.

    Outside Interests:

The majority of my time spent away from Hanes is with my immediate family. My two boys occupy a large portion of this time. Whether it is playing inside during the long hot days of summer or in the yard exploring ant hills, we are always able to find something to peak our curiosity. My wife and I have enjoyed traveling and are working to instill that sense of adventure in our boys.
