Ms. LaJoi Wilson-Moore
I am a product of the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System having graduated from Mt. Tabor High School. I am also an alumnus of Hampton University and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I have worked with children on every grade level. These experiences range from Directing a Daycare of Pre-Kindergarten aged-students, teaching elementary and high school students, to teaching on the university level as adjunct professor in Carbondale, Il., Winston-Salem, NC and in Surry County.
Locally, I have worked at North Hills Elementary School, Ibraham Elementary School, Hill Magnet School and Winston-Salem State University previously. During my tenure as assistant principal, interim principal or adjunct professor, I have worked with child advocacy groups on teacher recruitment/retention, drop out prevention for minority/disenfranchised students, curriculum alignment, and exceptional children.
I have enjoyed bringing my array of experiences to Thomas Jefferson's staff, students, and parents. My professional efforts at TJMS are aligned with our administrative goals to build community, celebrate success, and grow as learners. My personal goals are to establish and build positive relationships with all the stakeholders impacting student success.
Mother to one son, who will eventually become a TJMS Patriot, I am vested and committed to helping TJMS continue to thrive academically, for his sake and for the sake of all the students served while under my leadership.
