    Art Club 

    Description: Come create with other artists! We will complete a variety of art projects with a variety of mediums. Let your inner artist shine through in this club that meets every other week.

    Meeting Times: Interest Meeting on Tuesday, September 12th from 2-2:45 pm

    Battle of the Books

    Description: Battle of the Books is open for all students at TJMS! To join, students must read at least five of the books on the NC Battle of the Books list, and join meetings to compete with other students to quiz and compete with each other. The interest forms will be sent to your ELA teachers next week. Please join us!

    Meeting Times: Interest meeting immediately following morning announcements on Tuesday, 9/12. Regular meetings will be every Wednesday from 2:15-3 pm

    Bass Fishing Club:

    Description: The TJMS Bass Fishing Club is open to all students interested in bass fishing - all ability levels are welcome. Whether you enjoy bass fishing or have never been before and want to learn, the TJMS Bass Fishing Club is a place to learn new fishing techniques, develop your skills, ask questions, and share your love of bass fishing with others.

    Creative Writing Club: 

    Description: Our club explores different genres of writing, such as short stories, poems, plays, songs etc. Students can choose whether or not they would like to share their work. This is a safe place to be creative!

    Drama Club:

    Description: Calling All Actors, Singers, dancers, stage hands, sound and light technicians! Join the theater club and be a part of the TJMS productions. We plan to produce one play and one musical for the 2023-24 school year.

    Meeting Times: Interest meeting on Wednesday, September 13th from 2-3 pm

    Dungeons and Dragons Club:

    Description: Calling All Adventurers! We need daring and bold adventurers to come to the Kingdom of Room 203 to help protect it from vile creatures. Earn gold, fame, and glory all while playing an amazing game of Dungeons and Dragons. Play as a noble paladin or a cunning wizard to explore the wilds of our imagination. Bring your friends or make new ones while fighting the most sinister monsters that only exist in our minds. Fight. Play. Work. Together.

    GLAM - Girls Leadership Awareness Mentoring:

    Description: Empowering girls through leadership, while focusing on the power of their voices! 

    Advisor: Ms. Hopkins, Ms. Barr, Ms. Campbell, Ms. Saunders, and Ms. Scott

    Meeting Times: First meeting on Wednesday, September 20th from 2:15-3:15. The club will meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

    International Culture Club:

    Description: Love learning about different cultures and having fun? Check out the International Culture Club.

    Advisor: Ms. Reyes-Viands, Ms. Elkin and Ms. Geryagos

    Meeting Times: First meeting on October 3rd from 2:10-3 pm. The club will then meet every other Tuesday. A calendar will be provided.

    Knitting & Crocheting Club:

    Description: Love knitting and crocheting, or want to learn? Join the TJMS knitting and crocheting club.

    Advisor: Ms. Hobson and Ms. Clary

    Meeting Times: First meeting on September 21st from 2-3 pm. The club will then meet every first and third Thursday.

    Location: Room 201


    National Academic League (NAL):

    Description: We are forming this year's National Academic League (NAL) team for TJMS. NAL is a mix of "quiz bowl" style game play and debate/persuasive speaking. It is not just for the academically-inclined - we need students who are great presenters and love to debate. We will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays until matches start. Then, we'll practice on Tuesday and have matches on Thursdays. The season will last from October through January.

    Orchestra Tutoring:

    Description: There will be orchestra tutoring offered after school on A days ONLY. Come practice with Ms. Morris and hone your skills.

    Robotics Club:

    Description: As a part of the First Lego League, this club guides youth through STEM learning and exploration. Students work together to apply what they learn by programming robots to perform missions on the league provided mat in a competition setting. The focus is on the fundamentals of engineering as students explore real world problems, learn to design a robot and code. Best of all, Robotics requires teamwork and friendships that last all through middle school form.

    Meeting Times: Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2-3 pm

    SAVE Service Club

    Description: Do you enjoy being a leader? Do you enjoy giving back? Then come and be a part of our NEW TJMS service club, SAVE. Be the change and help make an impact on those around you! Let's work to make "kindness the norm"!

    Student Council:

    Description: The TJMS Student Council consists of student representatives (two per homeroom) who share their classmates' ideas, questions, and concerns with school leaders. Members of the council must serve as strong role models for their peers, work to increase school spirit and morale, and help organize various student events and service projects.

    Representatives are selected from each homeroom class.


    Trading Card Club:

    Description: Do you love trading cards? Join the trading card club and bring your coolest Pokemon, Football, Baseball, Basketball cards to show off and trade.

    Meeting Times: Wednesdays 2-3 pm

    TSA - Technology Students of America:

    Description: TSA is a national organization of students engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).TSA is open to students enrolled in or who have completed technology education courses. TSA’s membership includes more than 250,000 middle and high school students across the US. TSA is supported by educators, parents and business leaders who believe in the need for a technologically literate society. Members learn through exciting competitive events, leadership opportunities and much more. A wide range of activities makes TSA a positive experience for every student. TSA chapter members work on competitive events, learn and apply leadership skills, and may attend conferences at the state level. Competitions are categorized by careers in Architecture and Construction Technology, Communications Technology, Computer Science and Information Technology, Leadership, Manufacturing and Transportation Technology, STEM (General), STEM and the Arts, and Technology and Research.
