Welcome to Mrs. GrayTHE KINGSWOOD SCHOOLOCCUPATIONAL COURSE OF STUDY PROGRAM
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! What a pleasure and a privilege it is for me to continue to teach and to do what I love! I appreciate you trusting me with your son/daughter and allowing me to be one of their teachers this school year.
I grew up in Kernersville, NC and attended Sedge Garden Elementary, Glenn Junior High, and East Forsyth High School. After high school I continued my studies at Appalachian State University where I received two undergraduate degrees in Special Education. I continued my studies in New Mexico (where I lived for 28 years) in Ed. Administration and Counseling at the University of New Mexico and Webster University. After leaving New Mexico I lived and taught in Sugarloaf Key, Florida for two years. Then I came back to North Carolina and have been here since 2003. I have taught in elementary, middle, and high school. I was an administrator for over 15 years while in New Mexico. Last school year I was chosen as Teacher of the Year. Being in the field of education is not a job for me...it is a passion. I continue, after all the years, to love to come to school each day, to teach, and to learn. This is my third year teaching in Occupational Course of Study Program Classroom at The Kingswood School. What a great place to be teaching! My husband and I have seven children and three grandchildren that reside in California, Hawaii, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Alaska and New Hampshire. As you can probably guess, we love to travel to see our kids. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love to write and to read...when time permits. I also enjoy cooking. I believe that laughter is a great medicine for many things.
