•  Traffic Safety

Here at Kernersville Middle we believe in safety for your child and everyone else. Please keep these few rules in mind regarding traffic safety when on our campus.

** WE NORMALLY HAVE TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC BACKED UP ONTO BROWN RD. PLEASE ASSIST US IN MOVING TRAFFIC SMOOTHLY BY TAKING TURNS ALLOWING BOTH LANES TO GO.**

**  PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY ON BROWN RD, IN THE KMS DRIVEWAY, PICK UP CIRCLE AND PARKING AREAS.  DANGEROUS OR CARELESS DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

    Arrival
Traffic is at the heaviest between 7:00-7:20. We can only move as fast as the children are exiting the vehicles. (Arriving 5 minutes earlier or later can make the world of difference.)
      • Pay attention to the attendants and crossing guards.

      • Pull as far up as possible so that we can keep the traffic moving smoothly.

      • Be prepared to exit before the vehicle comes to a stop. Do not wait until the vehicle is stopped before you start gathering all your books and other items.

      • Exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.

      • Do not pass other vehicles if they are waiting in line.

    Dismissal

In the afternoons the line for pickup normally starts around 1:30. By 1:45 the traffic is already backed up onto Brown Rd.

      • Arrive prior to 1:30 if you are planning on parking to wait.

      • Do not pass other vehicles if they are waiting in line.

      • Pull as far up as possible.

      • Pay attention to the attendants and the crossing guards.

      • Remind your child to be ready to enter the vehicle once you have come to a stop, this allows the line to move faster.

      • Enter on the passenger side of the vehicle.

    Bus Lot

** NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED ON THE BUS LOT AT ANYTIME.**

    A few other brief reminders...

      • Once on campus report to the main office.

      • Sign in on the visitor sign in sheet and get the proper ID. Please display the ID on you at all times while in the building. This will help us with assisting you while here on this campus.

      • Please do not be offended if we ask to see your visitor ID while in the building, we have a lot of former students and parents who we do not always recognize at first.
