•  Crosby Scholars Program

Northwest Middle School is a part of the Crosby Scholars Community Partnership, helping students in middle and high schools in Forsyth County prepare academically, personally, and financially for college admission and other post-secondary opportunities best suited to a student's needs, aptitudes and dreams.

With a 20-year history of providing academic training, financial aid and college application workshops, advisory services, college tours and Last Dollar Grant scholarships, Crosby Scholars now serves over 7,000 students per year.

    • Each Crosby Scholar must complete at least 2 hours of community service each school year. (Two hours are required, although five hours are recommended for high school students.) This service should be done at non-profit organizations or programs. This volunteer work can be fulfilled through church activities, scouts, school clubs or civic organizations.

    • Crosby Scholars who are in grades 6-8 must also attend a Saturday Academy. This forum is held in-person at Forsyth Tech, but a virtual option has also been added.  This forum is a time where scholars learn more about study skills and time management.

    • High School Scholars have an on-campus advisor who meets with them monthly about preparing for the college application process.
