This course uses the lab skills learned in Biotech I to investigate the central dogma of biotechnology. Students will study the events that go on during gene expression and will see how it can be manipulated. Lab activiites include analyzing DNA, genetic engineering, inserting DNA into bacteria, assaying for protein activity, protein isolation and purification, copying DNA via PCRs, and medical diagnostics using ELISAs. The content of this course will require the use of advanced biology concepts and good lab skills.
