• Kindergarten Immunizations

Children starting kindergarten this fall are required by North Carolina to have specific vaccines to protect them from serious diseases. Kindergartners are required to have:

    • two doses of varicella (chicken pox) vaccine if they do not have a history of disease documented by a health care provider
    • The fourth dose of polio vaccine must be given after 4 years of age and before entering school for the first time.
    • a physical exam signed by their physician

It is your responsibility as the parent/guardian to present an up-to-date immunization record for your child to the school.  You will have 30 calendar days from the first day of attendance to provide the immunization record.  If proof of vaccination is not provided by the end of the 30-day period, the child will be suspended from school until proof of immunization is provided as required by law.

If you have any questions, please call the school at 703-4247.
