It is time to start up another school year. I am lucky enough to have seven students that I had last year. Each of them is great fun to work with and to be around. I couldnt ask for anything more in my 11th year of teaching. I also had an addition to my family as my wife and I had a little boy, Sam Nicholas, on Aug 14th. He now joins his sisters, Leah and Emmy, along with dogs Millie and Allie, cats Finn, Fiona, and Kitty, and three fish. Our house is bursting at the seams and there is not a lot of sleeping going on, but hopefully that will improve as the days go on. I am really excited about this year and all the success it will bring for my students.

We are well into the school year and it has been a wild one! I've moved out of my previous home for 5 years and now am located in Trailer #1. It is located on the sidewalk next to the 3rd grade pod. Also, with the number of snow days it is still up in the air when this school year will be completed. Keep watching the district website for details!

Its a new year and with it comes some changes. For the past 9 years I have worked with students who spent all or almost all of their school day with me in my classroom. This year, I will be working with students who receive "resource' services, meaning the spend the majority of their day in the typical classroom and will receive assistance from me in those subject areas where they can benefit from having a little extra help. This assistance will come both in the classroom with their peers as well as in my room with a smaller group of students, depending on their IEP. I am very excited for this opportunity and I look forward to working with many of our amazing teachers in the typical classrooms!!
On a personal level, my wife and I welcomed our baby girl Emmy into the world on June 22nd. Parenthood to an infant is a new and wild experience and I have new respect for every parent out there! In addition, this will be a very exciting school year as my step-daughter Leah is starting Kindergarten at Cash. That should make for a very interesting and fun school year.
I have received my tentative list of students that I will be working with and I am thrilled that I know or am familiar with most of them. I'm very excited about the opportunity to teach each of them and watch them grow and have success!
