    Amanda A Gordon
I am Amanda A. Gordon, and this is my 12th year teaching.  In my free time, I enjoy working on my own art,  playing string instruments, spending time with fellow church members, taking digital photos, reading, blogging, tweeting, and traveling with my husband.  I graduated from UNCG, (the University of North Carolina at Greensboro,) with a bachelor in fine arts and a teaching licensure with high honors, magna cum laude.  During the 2006-2007 school year, I added AIG certification to my licensure through a program at UNCC, (the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.)  In 2009, I completed the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards and was awarded my National Board Certification!  I was also named Teacher of the Year 2011 for Diggs-Latham Elementary and nominated for the A+ Educator of the Year Award in 2014 & 2015.  Along with teaching Art, I currently serve as the Specialists' Team Chairperson, A+ Coordinator, AIG Coordinator, Yearbook Editor, WSFC Arts Council School Representative and Black History Committee Chairperson.  Outside of school, I am active in my church, Sovereign Grace Chapel; I serve as a bulletin designer and webmaster.  I am also on the Board of the Stokes County Arts Council as the secretary and a co-chair to the Visual Arts Committee.  One of my favorite things about teaching is working with other teachers and meeting many different students each year.
