Meet Mrs. Rights
Dear Parents,
I am thankful to have the opportunity to be your child’s teacher! I am blessed to have a job that I love at such a wonderful school. I am passionate about teaching and helping children blossom as learners. I look forward to working together this year.
Here is some information about my professional background:
August 2016 begins my 15th year at The Downtown School.
I earned a Bachelor's degree and K-6 elementary teacher certification from Duke University. I student taught kindergarten in Durham. After graduating, I enjoyed a kindergarten teaching internship at The International School of Brussels in Belgium. I later earned a Master's degree in Counseling and K-12 school counselor certification from Wake Forest University. I completed my school counseling internship at DTS, and I was eager to teach at this phenomenal school! I taught 2nd and 3rd grade here for 5 years.I achieved National Board Certification in 2007 and it was an honor to be named Teacher of the Year for the 2008-2009 school year.In 2008 I returned to my first love of teaching the younger ones in kindergarten and first grade, where every day is a fun adventure!Outside of school I am kept very busy running after my 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter. My husband is the minister of a church in Kernersville.
Feel free to e-mail me at bwrights@wsfcs.k12.nc.us if you have any questions. I look forward to a great year together!
Sincerely,
