•  The Downtown School 6th-8th Grade Program

    Just like our pre-k and elementary programs, our middle grades program features small class sizes with 15 in each class (45 per grade level). This allows students to receive the individual attention that early adolescents need. Each grade level has their own floor in our middle school building.

    Our unique middle school experience also includes: 

    • Opportunities to participate on an award winning Robotics Team

    • Enrichment Cluster Choices have included, art, music, Latin, photography, Special Olympics, greenhouse, global issues, community service, fitness, debate, coding, and sociology discussions

    • High academic achievement and substantial growth for all students

    • School clubs: Battle of the Books, Jr. Shag Dancing, GSA, Drama Club, Student Leadership, Lego Robotics, Circle Keepers (Restorative Peer Mediation), National Junior Honor Society, and Crosby Scholars

    • Students may try out for sport teams at their residential school

    • Greenhouse access

    • One-to-One technology
    • Computer Skills and Spanish Encore classes
    • Rooftop social at the end of the year

    • Winter Dance

    • Team building with all middle grades at Camp Hanes each year

    • 6th grade participation in Special Olympics

    • 7th grade trip to Renaissance Fair and CTE Students@Work trip
