Hello, my name is Mrs. Bruce and I'm pleased to be the Art Specialist at Gibson Elementary. My approach for the art program addresses the NC Standard Course of Study set for the visual arts. I graduated from Appalachian State University with K-12 certification in Art Education.  I am married and have two grown sons. 

Students visit the art classroom once a week for forty minutes. They work on a wide range of projects using a variety of art materials. They draw, work with clay, make prints, weave, and paint, just to name a few!  Students also learn about a variety of art styles and artists while working on their studio projects.

Parents are always welcome in my classroom to visit and see my talented students at work!
