October 27, 2020 - The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education has voted to make changes to the proposed phased re-entry plan. The changes solidify return dates for Pre-K through first grade. All other grades will continue to learn virtually pending further discussion.
Teachers will return back to school on 11/2.
Students with disabilities in Exceptional Children (EC) separate setting, and those assigned to EC programs (i.e. visually impaired, hearing impaired, MAP, behavior) November 2nd.
Kindergarteners will return on November 9th. First graders will begin in-person instruction on November 16th.
The Board of Education will meet on November 17th to reevaluate a potential return date for grades 2 through 12.
Students who are not enrolled in the Virtual Academy but would prefer to continue learning remotely from their current school can do so. This option will be available for all students as in-person learning begins.
The survey that the school sent the week of 10/8 helped our school and district finalize our safe return/cohort planning.
4th and 5th-grade cohorts were announced on 10/26/20, students with the last name A-L will come on Monday and Tuesday, M-Z will come on Thursday and Friday pending the Board's announcement on 11/17/20.
