    Homework Policy

Homework is used to reinforce concepts in class. Students will also develop the needed responsibility skills that will serve them well in coming school years.  Homework is not graded but credit is given for turning in a completed assignment which is part of the grade.  Silent lunch is the consequence for not turning in an assignment.

    Spelling Homework:

We will  begin our weekly spelling tests soon.   We will send notice when spelling begins.

     Home Reading:

Each student in my reading group is expected to read 30 minutes a night.    Parental support is greatly appreciated as we encourage students to read. Students will be assigned requirements on assigned book levels each month.  Levels are passed out at the beginning of each quarter with the reading expectations.  Watch for this information.

    3.Math Homework:

Math homework is usually assigned nightly.  Please check you child's planner for nightly assignments.   Credit is given when the homework is checked in.  The students are expected to make their own corrections on homework when the assignment is reviewed in class.

    5.Science/Social Studies:

Study sheets will be provided for each of the tests.  Some units have projects but most of the work is done in class.   Study sheets will be posted on this web site to help with preparation for tests.
