I have been an educator for nineteen years. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. I taught at the elementary level for seven years. I spent six years teaching kindergarten and through that experience came to realize how much communication can affect a child's ability to succeed in school. This led me to pursue a Master's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the area of Speech-Language Pathology. Armed with this knowledge I chose to return to education to concentrate on helping students overcome speech-language disorders. My hope is that I am able to support the students and teachers by improving communication skills, thereby supporting the process of learning.
