A Little Bit About Me!
The 2016- 2017 school year is my 26th year as a Speech Pathologist in the WSFC Schools and my 17th year at Sedge Garden Elementary. I am married and have three awesome children that have grown too quickly! I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from East Carolina University. (Go Pirates!)
I have worked in preschool, elementary, middle and high school settings. The elementary school setting is closest to my heart. I was once upon a time a "speech Kid" too! I am able to tell the kids that I went through speech as a child and understand what it is like to receive the extra help. Many times this helps kids realize that they are not alone and that their speech difficulties can be helped. I believe "Speech Class" is a fun place to go where children will never be made fun of or intimidated. I believe all children deserve the opportunity to be productive citizens in their community. I also believe that children should be able to communicate effectively with others. It is my job to ensure they can reach their full potential. I want to make sure that all children are given the tools they need to be successful.
This year, I am working with students at two different schools throughout the week. I am based at Sedge Garden Elementary. I am also working with students at East Forsyth High School.
I am available by phone or email during the school day. Please feel free to contact me at Sedge Garden if there are questions or concerns.
