My name is Edwina Cain and I have been teaching at Ward Elementary for 12 years. I was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. I went to Lewisville and Clemmons Elementary Schools, Kennedy Middle School, and graduated from Mt. Tabor High School in 1995.
I received my undergraduate degree from East Carolina University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Physical Sciences. I completed my masters degree from Nova Southeastern University, where I received a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am married to a diehard Clemson fan, and we have two beautiful daughters. Gabrielle attends Clemmons Middle School, and Tori who is a first grader Ward Elementary. We had a new addition to our family in December 2014, our son, Jalen Eric. He is truly a joy and we love his bubbly "boy" personality!!
I love to read, sing in my church choir, and play with my girls.  We love movies in our house,  and we are very actively involved in various activities at our church. We are a very silly family that LOVES to laugh, and I love to incorporate humor into my classroom.
I look forward to working with you and your family this year. I only ask one simple thing...have a positive attitude and work as hard as you can. I will be just as proud of a student that works hard to make a "C", as I would a student who makes "A's". In my eyes, it is all about academic growth!!
