North Hills Elementary is a Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) school. PBIS is a system that organized adults and students to create a culture in a school that encourages positive behavior and interactions while discouraging problem behaviors. This culture leads to a safer environment where students achieve academically and build positive relationships with each other and with adults. PBIS

helps children at North Hills Elementary behave in a safe and respectful way so that all students are ready to learn.

Any student disrupting the educational process of another student verbally or physically should expect to be disciplined. The rules apply to all students.

As a PBIS school, disruptive behaviors have been assigned a level according to severity. The levels are defined in the North Hills Elementary School Student Handbook 2011-2012.
