The school system has a process to send information to students and teachers that's designed to limit the amount of materials that students carry home, while allowing community organizations and businesses to communicate with students, families and employees.

Generally speaking, non-profit organizations have more leeway to send information home with students and staff. For-profit organizations and some services, such as after-school care, tutoring and summer camps, are generally limited to displaying items in common areas of schools or common areas. A summary of what is allowed is below; the complete policy is available here.

Please follow these instructions if you would like to send information to our students, families or employees:

    1. Print and complete the Request to Distribute Form
    2. Submit the form along with a sample of what you would like to send home including the required disclaimer. Please email the forms to bcampbell@wsfcs.k12.nc.us.
    3. The Marketing and Communications Department will return the permission form to you indicating whether your request was approved. If it was approved, we also will send directions on the number of copies to provide and how to package them for distribution. If it was not approved, the form will give the reason why.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about this process.
