• Español III-H

Keeping in mind that this is an HONORS course, the pace is quicker and the requirements are much greater than in previous Spanish courses. Students should plan to spend at least 30 minutes daily outside of class studying and preparing homework assignments.   In the first chapter, which is review, we will review present tense of regular and irregular verbs, reflexive verbs and the verb gustar.  In subsequent chapters we will learn to talk about outdoor activities, health and well being, Hispanic art and artists, and friendships through review and introduction of the preterit versus the imperfect, commands, the present perfect, the past perfect, the future, and the subjunctive.
We will study various Spanish artists including Dalí, Velázquez, Kahlo, Rivera, Botero, de Goya, and el Greco. Students will work in groups to create a Facebook page of an artist. We will also review and go more in depth with uses of SER and ESTAR (estar especially with past participles) and verbs that change meaning when used in preterit or imperfect.
