• Public Records Requests

    Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools believes that transparency leads to public trust. Students, parents, employees, and the public have the right to request and inspect all public records available to them under state law. 

    Records available to the public are governed by two state laws: (view in pop up to right)

    General Statue Chapter 132: outlines the type of records available to the public.
    General Statute Chapter 115C - Article 21A: outlines the employee information that is available to the public.

    There are some exemptions to the public records law. Some individual student information, for example, is not available to the public. Please call the Office of Marketing and Communications at 336-727-2696 if you have any questions.

    Please be as specific as possible when making a request. We will do our best to respond to your request within 30 business days.  We also try to provide an estimate of how long it will take to fulfill, understanding we process them in the order received.
