I grew up in a small Arizona town and moved to Tempe after high school to attend Arizona State University (go Sun Devils!) for my B.A. in Elementary Education. I began my career teaching middle school language arts/reading for five years before moving on to the elementary setting. I spent 16 wonderful years teaching for Mesa Public Schools, most of which were spent in fifth grade (my favorite!). Along the way, I went back to A.S.U. to get my M.A. in Educational Administration.
I have been married for almost 16 years, and we are very blessed to have our two children, who are also part of the LES family. In addition, we recently rescued our newest family member - a puppy!
We moved here from Arizona several years ago, when my husband accepted a new position with his employer. We have absolutely loved the beauty of North Carolina, and I'm especially fond of the autumn months . . . for a girl who grew up in the desert, what a treat!
After taking a year off to get our family settled, I went back to work part-time for one year and then accepted a full-time position at Lewisville in 2012. I am so very excited to be in the classroom, doing what I love!
