• First Week!

The first week started off with a bang!  We spent a lot of time getting to know each other and learning about our new PBIS structure.  This week we focused on sequencing during Language Arts.  Math was really exciting because we played multiplication using a numbered  beach ball.  The kids wanted to do this all day, but we had to keep moving.  Remember, we are now big third graders.  Also, we reviewed place value and rounding and was very pleased how much they remembered from last year.  If your student is talking your ears off about plants, it's because we started our plant unit this week.  On Friday, we planted a lima bean seed in plastic bags so we can view and document the life cycle of a seed plant.
Next week will be a busy week for the students.  They should start bringing home books to read, so please spend a few minutes reading with your student.  Also, please spend a few minutes working with multiplication tables up to five with your student.  They should know their multiplication factors up to five by next Friday.
As always, please contact me with any questions.
