Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are so excited to be working with your child this school year. We have high expectations for our class, and We will do all that we can to help your child achieve those expectations. Kindergarten is a very important year, and we have a lot to accomplish. We ask that you please encourage your child to do his or her very best every day at school. Below is a brief explanation of some of our classroom expectations.
Behavior: Your child is a valuable member of our family of learners! The class will work together every day to follow P.A.W.S Laws. throughout the school. Please encourage your child to support his or her classmates and follow the rules everyday.
Homework: Homework is used to reinforce lessons taught in school. Homework can be found in your child’s Communication Folder. Please check this folder every day and work with your child to complete the assigned work. In addition to this homework, I ask that you please read for at least 15 minutes each night (read to your child or have your child read to you). After reading, ask about the book (i.e. “What was your favorite part of the story?” “What was the book about?”).
Supplies: We encourage sharing and use community supplies in our classroom. If you have purchased supplies specifically for your child, please use those at home for homework. We will always be in need of tissues, hand sanitizer, glue sticks, and dry erase markers. If you would like to send any of these items with your child for the class, we would greatly appreciate your contribution.
*Please, remind your child to eat breakfast every morning.
We look forward to working with you and your child throughout the year. If you would like to volunteer in our classroom, please let us know- you are always welcome!
Mrs. Belcher & Ms. Geralds
