    The following is a checklist of Dos and Donts that you and your child need to follow when preparing for the DC Trip!!

     

    Dos

    c       Bring 1-2 outfits (dress for cool weather and bring a lightweight raincoat).

    c       Bring modest fitting pajamas.

    c       Bring socks and underwear

    c       Wear comfortable shoes (tennis or running shoes; NO sandals, Heelies, or high heels)

    c       Bring personal cleansing items (deodorant, toothpaste and brush, soap, lotion, comb/brush/pic, sanitary items)

    c       Bring 1 carry-on bag (book bag) for your spare time items: books, crossword puzzles, coloring books, comic books, etc.

    c       Bring 1 small suitcase or duffel bag including all clothes, shoes, and personal items

    c       Bring all prescription medications that you may need to take.

    c       Put a label on your suitcase and carry-on bag including, name, phone number, and address.

    c       Bring nutritious snacks (fruit, snack chips, pretzels, crackers, snack mix, granola bars, etc.)

    c       Bring an umbrella or rain jacket.

    c       Plan only to have a positive attitude.

    c       Plan to be respectful to everyone!

     

    Donts

    c       Do not bring any handheld gaming systems, televisions, or DVD players.

    c       Do not bring any weapons (knives, pepper spray, guns, etc.)

    c       Do not bring any electronic hair care (curlers, hot irons, curling irons, blow dryers)

    c       Do not bring or wear any unnecessary jewelry (keep to a minimum for safety reasons).

    c       Do not pack any suggestive clothing (NO tank tops, low cut tops or short skirts).

     

    Optional Items

    • Camera with battery and film
    • Acceptable Electronic items: Portable CD players with headphones and mp3 players with headphones, and Gameboys.
    • ****Parents please help your child to select appropriate music if bringing a CD player or mp3 player.
    • Cell phone (May only be used while on the bus, or while in the hotel room before Lights Out).
    • Spending money (No More than $50)

     

    If a child is using a cell phone or any of the other electronic items at any time other than designated, it will not be used for the remainder of the trip and will stay with the childs teacher or Mrs. Gladstone.
