    Meadowlark Meals Makes a Difference

1 in 4 kids in Winston Salem are food insecure. Meadowlark Meals provides much needed assistance to more than 20 MES students.

Meadowlark Meals - We are here to help!

The mission of the Meadowlark Meals food assistance program is to provide students in need with nutritious food during the weekends and school breaks. No child will be turned away. Meadowlark Meals is run exclusively on donations – no other services that families receive are affected by the receipt of Meadowlark Meals support. Students bring home 1 bag every Friday filled with healthy food that helps feed them over the weekend.  Additional bags are provided the days prior to Thanksgiving/winter/spring breaks.

If you have questions or would like to request a form to enroll, please contact Karen Browder, Guidance Couselor, by email kjbrowder@wsfcs.k12.nc.us or call MES at 336-703-4208.

We are very fortunate to have generous parents and community members who support our backpack program as we are 100% dependent on donations to sustain the program.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make the check payable to MES PTA and in the memo line of the check, please indicate Meadowlark Meals. If you prefer to send cash, please enclose a note with the instructions that the money is for Meadowlark Meals. The money will be specifically earmarked for Meadowlark Meals and not used to subsidize any other PTA-funded school initiative.
