     PBIS

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support is a well researched and widely used system of encouraging positive behaviors in schools. PBIS emphasizes teaching, modeling, and role playing over negative discipline and punishments. Expectations are outlined for all common areas of the school – hallways, cafeteria, playground, etc. – under the motto Bulldog POWER. The purpose is to regularly teach and re-teach students behavior expectations at school and reinforce them through individual and classroom rewards. Students can earn Bulldog Bucks which can be redeemed for drawings, special privileges, or tangible items. Whole classes can earn Bulldog Merits which allow them special privileges as a class throughout the year.

The staff of Mineral Springs Elementary is focused on working with students and their families to promote positive behavior in all school settings. These rules are reinforced daily.   When the school rules are followed students have an opportunity to be recognized for their efforts by receiving Bulldog Bucks and Bulldog Merit Awards
