    Mathematics

    • Math Review Worksheets—student review worksheets should be completed according to the directions of the planner.  Homework is based on the skills that have been worked on in class and should serve as reinforcement for your child.  If your child is experiencing difficulty in completing an assignment please assist them in doing so.   However, please do not force your child to the extent of frustration.  Make note of their difficulty on the assignment, and I will review those concepts with them further.

    Reading

    • Students may be assigned a story with questions each week.  The story will be given to the students on Monday, and it will be due on Friday.  At other times, several reading passages may be sent home for homework, and questions will accompany the text.  Reading homework is varied throughout the year.
    • Students should be reading 20 minutes each night from a book of his/her choice.  Be sure to sign the reading record located in the blue folder.

    Spelling

    • Spelling lists will be given out at the beginning of each week.  This list will be written by your child in the planner.  Spelling homework assignments should be completed according to the planner.  Students will be given a spelling test on Fridays in order to ensure that they have mastered the spelling pattern.  Spelling tests a variety of skills, including following directions, correct grammar usage, and vocabulary and spelling practice.
