• Media Center Policies

The Media Center staff assists students and teachers in locating and using print and non-print resources to meet their informational, educational and recreational needs. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit requests for new library materials.

    Hours and Use

    ·        The Media Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. On Friday, the Media Center closes at 3:40.

    ·        Students may NOT have food and drinks in the Media Center

    ·        Students may come to the Media Center before school and during lunch without a pass. After school, students must be in the Media Center before 3:55 p.m. or they will not be admitted without a pass from their teacher. All other times, students must have a written pass signed and timed by their teacher.

    ·        Students must sign in at the circulation desk upon entering the Media Center and leave his/her pass at the desk. If a student needs to return to class before the end of the period, he/she must check with one of the media staff, sign out and have his/her pass signed.

    ·        During lunch, students are to sign in at the desk and remain in the Media Center for the entire time unless they have permission to leave from one of the media staff. If they leave they must return to the cafeteria.

    ·        The use of ipods, MP3 players, ear buds or cell phones is not permitted in the library.

    ·        The Media Center can accommodate two class groups per period. Small student groups (6 students or less) may be accommodated most of the time in the Media Center. Please check with media staff before sending small groups.

    ·        Teachers who wish to schedule a class in the Media Center should see the media coordinator as soon as possible. They will also need to fill out a Class Visit Planning Form in advance and attach a copy of the assignment. Class visits are usually scheduled for 45 minutes, either the first or last half of the period. If a teacher needs to cancel a scheduled visit, please notify the media staff as soon as possible so that the facilities will be available for other groups. In the event of your absence on a scheduled day in the Media Center, you will need to reschedule rather than send you class with a substitute.
