My hope for you this first year is to learn a great deal about the ages and stages of childhood, whether it is your intention to pursue a career with children or just learn more about this marvelous stage in our lives! This two-credit course (we meet each day for 90 minutes) prepares students to work with children in early education and child care settings. Areas of study include personal and professional preparation, child development from birth to age 12, techniques and procedures for working with young children, and the history, trends, and opportunities in this field. An internship makes up almost 50% of your instructional time (currently classroom instruction is M, T, and W. TH and F is off-site internships with children).
