Hallo/Hello!
My name is Andrea Monroe and I am starting my 9th school year at East Forsyth High School. I graduated from Southwest Guilford High School and attended UNC-Greensboro. I majored in English, with a minor in German. Having lived in Germany until I was 13 years old, I am a fluent German speaker. I recently added my Masters in Education (Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment) to my post graduate work, in order to stay abreast of the latest teaching methods. This year I will be teaching German 1, 2 , German 3 (honors) and German 4 (honors), along with HS English.
I have a son who is 16 years old and have been married to my husband for 18 years. We have two dogs- one yellow and one chocolate Labrador (Duke and Hershey.)
I am the sponsor of German Club. Helping the community is important to us. Last year we made mats for the homeless from grocery bags. In the past we have helped women's shelters, walked in Alzheimer's walks, raised money for one of our student's battling cancer and bought toys for tots. This year, we will support Habitat for Humanities and its causes. I am also the Habitat Club sponsor. It is our goal to help the community in any way we can, while still learning about German culture.
