    Kindergarten Highlights

    • School begins at 7:55 a.m. and dismisses around 2:25 p.m.  Please read your Clemmons Handbook for important information.
    • If your child is going home another way than their normal routine, they must have a note with them.
    • If your child is absent they must have a written excuse within 3 days of their return to school.
    • Please do not send your child to school with a fever, or sore throat.  We will miss them terribly, but we do not want them to get other children sick.
    • Please make sure your child is getting a good breakfast and a good night's sleep.  It is important to their success.
    • Please send in a snack everyday for your child to eat.  Please no drinks.
    • Students must wear sneakers on the P.E. special day to participate in the activities.
    • Parents are free to come in and eat with their child during our lunch time.  The kindergarten grade level asks that you wait one month before coming to give time for classes to set into the lunchtime routine.
    • If your child has a birthday, he or she may bring in refreshments to share with the class.  This is optional.  Please contact us ahead of time.
    • I check my email before and after school.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
    • There will be a weekly newsletter emailed to you every week and posted on my webpage.  This newsletter will have important information on the events of that week.
    • Your child will have a behavior chart sent home in their folder.  Please make sure to initial it every night.  There will be important information also sent home in their folder, so please make sure to check it NIGHTLY.
    • In the next few weeks we will start sending home study rings.  These may be words, colors, numbers etc. that are to be practiced nightly.  Once the skills are mastered, we will give the child a new set.
    • We have a class website that can be accessed through the schools website.  This will be a great resource for you to see what is going on in the classroom and what we are studying.
