      INTERNSHIPS
Class work is important.  The classroom is a safe haven in which we can dare to think outside the box.  A lot of learning happens away from the schoolhouse and long after the final bell has rung.  Internships are not a class requirement but they provide outstanding opportunities for our students to network, observe and actively participate in "the real world."

College admissions counselors love to see "internship" on the resume.  Employers want a reason to separate the "have-done" from the "might-do."  An internship can provide the difference to help you stand out among the crowd.

The following organizations have provided students in our program the opportunity to work in various capacities as unpaid interns.
      • IMG World
      • Wake Forest University Sports Information
      • Wells, Jenkins, Lucas and Jenkins Attorneys

      SCHOLARSHIPS
Yes, school can be expensive.  Every post-secondary educational institution provides financial aid.  Apply early.  Apply often.  Don't miss the deadlines!

I will provide letters of recommendation.  Whether I say something nice... well, that depends entirely upon your attitude, your character and your effort.

      AWARDS AND CONTESTS
There are many...  I will help and I will nominate.  I will suggest and encourage.  I will not beg.  I will not plead.

The rewards can be delightful... if you like trophies, medals, plaques, certificates, travel - and money!  For example, the winner of the Poetry Out Loud competition receives a check for $20,000.  Do I have your attention?

      Enter if you wish.
