Below are the PAWS Laws we came up with as a class over the last few days.
Be nice to your friends.
Use your manners.
Listen and follow directions.
Always do your BEST!
Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
Walk in the classroom and the halls.Your child will be given a GREEN, YELLOW or RED face on their Behavior CalendarGREEN J = Super Citizen
YELLOW K= Warning
RED L= Time out, Possible parent contact
For an excellent day, your child will have a GREEN J. If your child gets two verbal warnings for the same reason, he/she will be have a YELLOW K. Two additional verbal warnings will be given to prevent the light from changing color to RED. If your child has an excessively disruptive day, he/she will have a RED L. Any YELLOW or RED that are sent home will include a written explanation of the behavior. Your child will ALWAYS have the opportunity to turn their day around and change their color back to YELLOW or GREEN It is extremely important that we work together to reinforce the rules, both at home and at school. Remember to PRAISE and reward your child for his/her GREEN light J days. In the same manner, think about consequences for RED light L days. Research shows that positive reinforcement is the most effective way to deal with behavior management. Your child will receive a reward at school as well.
Our behavior plan will be taught, reviewed, practiced, monitored and discussed with your child. This behavior plan will be enforced throughout the school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
