Parent Message 10/20/17
Greetings this is a message from Dr. Bethea, Principal of Walkertown Elementary School. The following information can be found on the school’s website on the Principal’s Page.
Thank you to Mrs. Simpson and all of our staff who helped make our Science Night a Big Success!! And a special Kuddos to all of our parents that brought our students back for an evening of fun and learning!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Each day students will be able to dress up and show their support.
Shady Grove Wesleyan Church here in Walkertown has come on board as a partner for our school. They would like to reward attendance by providing a pizza party to two classes with the highest attendance percentage in each quarter. One winner will be selected among K-2 classes and one from 3rd-5th classes. We will soon know which two classes will be the winners for the 1st quarter, and the pizza lunches will take place on awards day, December 1.
We are excited to continue to build more community support for our students, especially around encouragement of students being at school, on time, every day. If you know of another community group that would like to help us support great attendance, our social worker, Susan Parker, will be glad to help coordinate the effort.
Please mark your calendar for (additional) following events next week:
- We will have End of Quarter Tests in grade 3-5 on Monday and Tuesday
- Every Friday is spirit Friday. Students are asked to wear red or their Walkertown T-shirt to show school spirit
That’s it for now! Thanks for making it another great week at Walkertown Elementary! And as always thank you for being our partner in education!
