Welcome to Walkertown Elementary School- Home of the Wolfpack! I continue to be honored and excited to be a member of the Walkertown Family.  As your principal, I look forward each day to strengthening the relationships that I have begun building with all of our wonderful students, families, teachers, and talented staff.  While I have always eagerly anticipated the beginning of the school year, this August is particularly meaningful because it will mark the beginning of the seventh year that I will have the opportunity to partner with you on a journey to continue serving the children and families of the Walkertown community.

As it has been in previous years, we will continue our commitment to helping all children develop their intellectual capacity, academic skills, and social competence so that they will be prepared to effectively negotiate the demands associated with living in an ever-changing 21stcentury.  Beyond the rigors of their academic program, it is our aim to instill within each student the essential principles of pride, respect, and responsibility so that they will become productive and contributing members of our increasingly global society.

High expectations, which have been established by our qualified and dedicated staff, will be maintained while also providing a safe and nurturing student-centered community that fosters respect for individual differences.  At Walkertown Elementary, we will strive to make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience while maintaining a desire to develop a generation of inquisitive young people who will become lifelong students in their various pursuits of excellence.

I am also very excited about working with our parents who also make Walkertown Elementary a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.  I look forward to doing whatever I can to support their efforts and encourage you to become a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).  Volunteering and participating at various events throughout the school year will also benefit not only your child, but all of the children of Walkertown Elementary School.  So that you are informed, please visit our website for the most up to date information about our school and upcoming events!

Please know that I am always available to discuss any questions or concerns related to serving you and the children of Walkertown Elementary.

Greetings this is a message from Dr. Bethea, Principal of Walkertown Elementary School. The following information can be found on the school’s website on the Principal’s Page.

Parents thank you so much for all of your assistance as we engage in eLearning.  We want to remind you that although warmer weather is approaching please encourage your child to remain engaged in eLearning.  If you are having any problems,  please, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s).  We want as many students doing as much as they can.  We have the technology depot, the hotline, and other resources in place to help students continue learning. Remember we are Walkertown Elementary Strong!

Don’t forget that Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Check out our Twitter Page or the school’s website for ideas to show our teachers how much you appreciate them.  You can also visit the District’s website on how to share your pictures on the district’s social media pages.

DPI and Istation have provided districts with the option to open up the Istation ISIP progress monitoring assessment. The district will notify Istation to open the ISIP for our students to complete at home beginning May 1st. The  purpose is to update student’s

learning path in Istation. Parents do not need to help students, nor do they need to stress about it. The goal is to gauge where our students  are right now and update their learning path in Istation.

That’s it for now!  And as always thank you for being our partner in education!
