I enjoy teaching! I am also passionate about teaching! It provides me an opportunity to share my creativity with children in such a way that it motivates them to learn and understand how important an education is to their success. Their desire to learn, in turn, motivates me to dig deeper within myself to strive to be my best. I am dedicated to helping my students to reach their potential as people who are destined to become a productive citizen of a global world.
I accept that each child is unique and has his/her own styles of learning. I must tap into that "energy" and nurture or awaken the spirit to learn. In the classroom, I move as the facilitator, which helps children to learn and understand that they are responsible for their education. I want students to distinguish between the teacher's and parents' liability for ensuring they receive that best education possible and their responsibility as recipients of education. Part of that includes encouraging them to be peer tutors with their classmates, empowering them as citizens in the classroom.
I have taught for 15 years. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University and Masters of Art in Teaching from Salem College.
