  • Do subs have a WS/FCS email account?

    Posted by:

All subs have a WS/FCS email account. For most subs, the email address is typically assigned as follows: your first initial + your middle initial + your entire last name. If you have a very common last name, there may be a number tagged onto the end.

Your password is ‘Wsfcs123’ unless you have logged in and changed it.

If you need assistance determining your logon id or password, the Sub Help Desk may be able to assist you (336-748-3018) or you may have to contact the Technology Help Desk at 336-727-8300.

  • How/where do I check my Paycheck?

    Posted by:

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools employees have a secure way to view personal payroll check and W-2 information online. It is called "e-Docs," or the "Employee Document Portal".  Click on the e-Docs web site to view your paperless payroll stubs and follow the directions on the screen to determine your logon information and your password. Contact the Help Desk 336-748-3018 for help with your employee ID.

  • What is my pay rate now that I am a long-term sub?

    Posted by:
The Substitute Office does not determine long-term rates. Eligibility for long-term sub pay is determined by the Principal and HR Manager. The applicable pay rate itself will be dependent upon the teaching assignment and the individual's licensed or non-licensed status.

  • When "Supplementary Assignment" is listed under the Employee's Name, what does this mean?

    Posted by:
It means that you are subbing for a vacant position instead of for a specific employee. The prior employee has either resigned or retired leaving a vacancy at the school. Payment for these jobs is received in the middle of the month.

  • What forms do I need to complete if I want to apply for a non-teaching or a TA position?

    Posted by:

For current classified employees including substitute teachers, we are using new internal job posting procedures to share opportunities for promotions and transfers. To learn more, please visit the district’s web site, click on Employment under the Quick Links heading and then review the information under the heading “Internal Postings for current WS/FCS classified employees.” The first bullet lists the non-teaching internal postings, the second bullet lists the teacher assistant positions and the fourth bullet is a link to the Classified In-Service Application form.

If you decide to submit an application, please contact the Sub Office at (336) 727-2861 so that we can verify your employment as a substitute teacher and sign off as your supervisor. As a sub, you are considered an internal applicant and do not have to go through CPI but you MUST fill out this form.

  • In case of an emergency, what do I do when I need to cancel a job?

    Posted by:
If it is close to the job start time, SubFinder will not let you cancel the job.  You will need to contact the school where the job is and let them know that you are cancelling so that they can remove you from the job and begin their search for someone else.

If you are cancelling in a timely manner, SubFinder will allow you to pull up the job on your Current Jobs page and a "Cancel" button will be active.  A confirmation page will appear. Select a Cancellation Reason from the drop down menu by clicking the appropriate reason. Click "Yes" to cancel the job or "No" to return to the Current Jobs page.

  • How do I let the Sub Office know that I want to continue as a Sub for the upcoming school year?

    Posted by:
Every year, current active subs are asked to complete a "Substitute Intent" form.  This is the form that shares your intentions about subbing for the upcoming school year.  This form will be available on-line by the end of May.  All active subs will be sent an email and a voice mail notifying them of this opportunity to complete the form.  All subs must fulfill their commitment of subbing 10 times each semester AND sign their intent form to remain active.
