MTHS SUMMER READING PROGRAM
2014-2015
ALL Standard, Honors, Seminar, and AP English students are required to participate in the summer reading program at Mt. Tabor High School. In 2014-15, all freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors (standard, honors, seminar, and AP) will have a reading title for summer reading. Depending on the year and level, students may have from one to three books to read and also must complete an assignment on the reading(s). Due dates, book titles, and assignments are all given on the respective pages to the left for each grade level. Please pay close attention to due dates and directions for all assignments. All students should also receive the list of summer reading book titles and due dates in their report card envelopes.

If Juniors and Seniors are taking standard or honors English at the Career Center, they do not have a required summer reading book.
Any student taking Advanced Placement classes, whether at the Career Center or Mt. Tabor, has the same summer reading requirements, which are due on the first day of school in August. See the requirements on the Junior and Senior pages to the left.

How to Read Literature Like A Professor
We won't have copies of the AP Language summer reading novel until near the end of June 2014. We do not have any copies of the second book for AP Literature since students choose from a list. They are on their own to get their own copies, but if a student is in financial need, we will help! Please contact Laurie Schaefer at lschaefer@wsfcs.k12.nc.us if you need help with AP books.
