Email: firstname.lastname@example.orgIn Mrs. Young’s visual art class, students (smART Artists) will produce artwork in two and three dimensional forms. Students will become familiar with drawing tools and techniques, art history, color theory, painting, printmaking, collage, papier mache and clay. I also acknowledge an “Artist of the Month”, those students from each class who follow student expectations and exhibit smART Artist traits. Students are also given incentives on occasions for exhibiting smART Behaviors.***NOTE TO PARENTS***On occasion, I may take pictures of students working in class. Students are expected to be ARTISTS:
*Attitude: Be positive. Attitude is everything!
*Respect: Respect yourself, others, your teachers and our art supplies!
*Target: Stay focused and on target. Use your time wisely!
*Imagine: Use your imagination and be creative!
*Safety: Clean up behind yourself, use art tools correctly, and exercise safety in class!*Try: Try to do your best in everything you attempt. Change “I can’t” into “I will try”.

Major projects 40%
In-class assignments/sketchbooks 30%
Quizzes 30%(Participation, use of time, creativity and individuality can affect the overall grade)
