4th Grade Reading Skills
Reading is the key essential to making meaning from print. It requires identifying words in print (process called word recognition), construct an understanding from them (process called comprehension), and coordinate identifying words and making meaning so that reading is automatic and accurate (an achievement called fluency).
The fourth grade scholars will be following the pacing for Reading and Language Arts that is provided to us through the Imagine It series curriculum, which correlates with the Common Core Curriculum.
We will complete 6 different units that each has 5 lessons.
We will cover a variety of comprehension skills and strategies during each of these lessons.
