Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Hendel grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland and went to college at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Social Studies Secondary Education and minors in Asian Studies and Anthropology, Ms. Henel accepted a job teaching English as a Second Language for the Hong Kong-based NGO Chatteris Educational Foundation. Ms. Hendel lived in Hong Kong for one year and taught at Kei Hau Secondary School located on the Kowloon Peninsula in Lam Tin. Upon returning to the USA, Ms. Hendel lived in Connecticut working as a substitute teacher at all levels and for all subjects. She moved to Dallas, Texas after accepting a job with the Education Department at the Dallas Zoo and Aquarium. There, she was an instructor for the overnight program conducted in partnership with the school system and various scouting groups which included extensive walking tours, animal encounters and after-hours access to the Zoo.
Ms. Hendel is excited to be a part of the team at East Forsyth High School and cannot wait to get to know you! When she's not at school, Ms. Hendel enjoys reading books of all kind, cooking, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and running with her dog Dizzy.
