    Hello

     

     Welcome to Preschool.  My name is Mrs. Monroy and I am your child’s teacher.  I have worked with children in various roles for over twenty years.  I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York where I earned my AAS degree in Human Services and then went on to earn my Bachelors degree in School Age Care.  I was the director of a School Age Program before moving to North Carolina as my husband pursued an exciting opportunity for his career.  I have worked for Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools for nine years in Readiness, Kindergarten and Preschool.  I went to Greensboro College to get my Birth - Kindergarten teaching license. This is my 7th year at Griffith Elementary School.  I have one daughter who is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is pursuing her Elementary Education degree.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, traveling, and relaxing by the pool. My assistant Mrs. Moore is excited to be helping in our classroom. This is her first year with Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. She and her husband live on a small farm and have a baby boy, and they love to go camping and hiking every chance they get.
