Welcome to Ms. Bastin's Speech Class:
Sherwood Forest Elementary School
Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) screen, evaluate, and administer direct therapy in the areas of fluency, voice, articulation, and academic/social language for eligible children. Students who meet the NC guidelines for speech and language services are provided service under the Exceptional Children's umbrella and receive services to address their individual needs.
I am a native of Northern Virginia, who has been visiting the beautiful state of North Carolina since a very young age. I moved to Swansboro, North Carolina in 2005 where I became a preschool teacher and I found my passion for helping children with communication delays/disorders. In 2010, I attended East Carolina University (GO Pirates!) with a major in Communication Science and Disorders and a minor in psychology. Once I completed my undergraduate degree at ECU, I attended Western Carolina University for my Master's in Speech Language Pathology. I joined the team at Sherwood Forest Elementary School in Winston Salem in 2015. I am looking forward to a great 2016-2017 School year!
