Welcome back students & parents/guardians!! I'm ready for another round at John F. Kennedy, and I couldn't be more excited!

This year there are a few changes taking place that I want everyone to be aware of, the biggest change being how students will access classroom information. To replace teacher web pages located on the school website, teachers across the district are transitioning (if not already using) to a new learning platform called, Haiku. I have set up Haiku pages for ALL of my visual art classes, and we will be using them. Here students (and parents/guardians!) can access information regarding the class syllabus, art projects/assignments, important due dates, and upcoming art show dates & locations. Before school starts, students will be added to their respective Haiku pages. I will continuously update each Haiku, so it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that students access their visual arts page on a daily basis. This will eliminate any excuses of not being prepared for class, so it is their responsibility to stay up-to-date. Please help me by encouraging your child to make it a habit to routinely check their Haiku page!!!

Here are the links to each Haiku page:

One other change: JFK Visual Arts is going to Twitter and Instagram! You can follow student achievements throughout the year by finding our class on Twitter (@Art_JFK) & Instagram (Miss K. Krossman (jfk_visualarts)). My reasoning behind creating these social media accounts is because I wanted students and parents/guardians to be part of our creative journey as much as possible. These accounts will only be used to showcase student work and achievements. So please, help support your child by following us on Twitter and Instagram!

Change is good. This will be a learning process for everyone, but I am truly thrilled to embark on this new journey! I hope you are too! As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
